Tips for a Stress-Free Move

Does the idea of having a stress-free move seem impossible? Perhaps it is, but not so impossible as you may feel. Even if you’re moving from one ridiculously crowded street of LA to another ridiculously crowded street of LA, there are ways to make it seem nearly effortless.

First of all, find acertified Los Angeles home moving company. You’ll quickly realize that it’s very worth the expense to be able to put the move itself into someone else’s hands. Let them worry about moving your stuff out, loading it up, transporting it, and getting into your new residence safely. They’ll be quick, professional and efficient.

Begin planning your move early on, including packing up your possessions. If you’re not surehow to pack properly, ask your movers for advice. If you can afford it, you can even pay them to pack up your dishes, books and other stuff for you.

Try to stay organized. Label each box with its contents and its proper room. Any box with especially important contents should be marked so you can find it easily. Think carefully about the order everything should be loaded and unloaded to insure you get the necessary items first.

Make sure you don’t get stuck with all your clothes, or your shower curtain, at the bottom of a box somewhere. Take anything really essential with you in your own car or truck, including a change of clothes, toiletries, and sheets for your bed. Don’t forget the take out menus—you probably won’t be cooking.

Most of all, keep a sense of humor and proportion about it all. Don’t worry too much if things are an hour behind schedule, or if you can’t find your towels yet. You’ll have plenty of time to settle into your new home. What matters is that you, and your stuff, all arrive safely by the end of the day. Even if something gets broken, if it’s insured, then try to shrug it off. Whatever it is, it’s probably not worth stressing out over. Chose to laugh rather than cry, and you’ll feel much better when it’s all over.
